My next restorative yoga class is Saturday 16th May 2pm-4pm at the Community Hub at Brune Park (parking on site). Restorative yoga is a gentle practice focused on deep relaxation and stillness, restoring calm and balance to the mind and body.
We use blocks, pillows and blankets to support the body in poses that we hold from 3 to 5 minutes, enabling the muscles and nervous system to ease into a restful, calm state. We take a short break for a drink, snack and chat before we complete the session with a yoga nidra, a guided meditation to allow deep rest. Whilst the aim is to remain in a state between waking and sleeping consciousness, inevitably some people fall asleep! And that is absolutely ok - it's what your body is telling you you need at that moment.
